Project "Sailboat"

I will be using this site to document the resurrection of this glorious sailing vessel.  Built in 1979 by Waterhouse & May Ltd in Pickering, Ontario.  These boats are still built today by C&L Boatworks in Fort Erie, Ontario http://www.clboatworks.com/.  The boat is modeled after the British Wayfarer 16 http://www.uswayfarer.org/.  Frank Dye has made many amazing voyages in this boat including an 11 day 650 mile Atlantic crossing from Scotland to Iceland.  He has documented many of these trips in his three books.

Here are all the before pictures taken on the day we brought the boat home.

The mighty Steyr LG110 prevails!

Picked up this silencer from a guy in Poland....very impressed.  I am shooting at 20ft/Lb's and the loudest thing about this gun is the pellet hitting the target.  Ebay seller that I purchased the silencer from is here:  click here

Wood Dinghy / Boat Build

While shopping online for a tender / dinghy for my sailboat I came across free plans for a Portuguese style rowing dinghy.   CLICK HERE to get to the site with plans and instructions on how to build.  I beefed up the transom a bit to accept an electric trolling motor but other then that I followed the plans directly.  After the project was complete we took it out for sea trials and I have since added a sail.  It was great fun building and has inspired me to tackle a larger project....which I am in the planning / research stages now.  It was as much fun to build as it has been to play with on the water.  Here are some pics and I plan to add video soon. I was amazed at how quickly it started to look like a boat. Attached Transom Floor and seats are in. Let the fiberglassing and sanding begin. Painting. Will it sink or swim? Seems pretty stable. ...

Gun Cart Build

After shooting in my first field target match this year and seeing the carts, cases and other devices everyone was using to get their gear from lane to lane I decided I needed some similar contraption.  I started looking online and found nothing that fit what I was looking for.  In my searches I came across several images of the carts that "cowboy action shooters" use and decided that something similar would suit my needs.  I wanted something that would hold all the gear of two shooters completing the typical air rifle field target shoot.  Also, I plan on using the cart to tote guns and supplies around the  range during my frequent training sessions. Pictured here most recently at a field target match in Kalamazoo, Mi.  I have upgraded to pneumatic knobby tires. I made the bottom from some pallet wood and 1/4" luan laminated together. To hold everything together I used gorilla glue and my brad nailer. I wanted to...
